  • Marilyn Gomez

Hey, I’m Marilyn, and my passion for animals started when I was a kid. I first started working with animals at 16 as a volunteer at a local rescue shelter. From that moment on, I was hooked! I have a special place in my heart for both dogs and cats, and I’m dedicated to making a difference in their lives. I also rescue and rehome cats and dogs, fueled by my love for all animals. I’m currently working on online schooling in hopes of getting my associates degree in veterinary technology, passing the VTNE to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician, and hopefully pursue a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in the future.

  • Gabriela Lopez

Hi I’m Gaby, I was first introduced in the vet med field at 21 years old. However, since I was a little girl I’ve always had a love for animals of all kinds. I dreamed of becoming a vet nurse since I was six years old when my mom and dad bought me a veterinary play kit with a dog and cat plush. I’m now doing online school in hopes of getting my associates degree in veterinary technology, passing the VTNE and becoming a veterinary nurse

  • Jiselyi Lopez

Hi, I’m Jiselyi, I’ve always loved animals since I was very small, especially horses. When I was 17 I realized I only wanted to work with animals. I wanted to be an assistant and then later on get my Veterinary Technician license. Ultimately I really want to be a horse doctor even though cats and dogs will always play a large role in my life.

  • Dina Pak

Growing up, I have always loved animals but never actually saw myself pursuing a career in animal care. That all changed when I realized that I no longer found joy or fulfillment in my work as a preschool teacher and found myself spending any and all of my free time watching animal rescue videos on YouTube and really wishing I could do something like that instead. Taking a huge leap of faith, I left my teaching job to pursue a career in the veterinary field. Though I did not end up rescuing animals off the streets and putting up any videos on YouTube, I have found myself in a new career where I find joy in my work. I love what I do and my joy now comes in the form of puppy kisses, happy butt wiggles, wagging tails, and kitten purrs and snuggles.

  • Mellie Mezynski

Mellie began her journey in veterinary medicine in 2004 as a volunteer at a general practice veterinary clinic, where she discovered her passion for caring for animals and supporting the people who love them. In 2016, she transitioned into emergency veterinary medicine, gaining invaluable experience in fast-paced, critical care settings.

In 2023, she earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology and successfully passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) later that year, becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences from Polytechnic University, which has helped her build strong communication and client care skills.

Now, Mellie is excited to return to general practice, where she looks forward to forming meaningful one-on-one connections with clients and their pets.

Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys spending time with her two children, taking cruises, trying new foods, and cherishing the good-hearted people she’s met throughout her career.

  • Jac Trieu

Remember how you wanted to be the first astro-paleontologist president of the United States at 5 years old? Although there was a (very) brief 7 year old renaissance period of being a James Bond stunt double, Jac (They/Them/He/Him), has always wanted to be a Veterinarian whenever asked about their future goals and aspirations since the wee age of 3 years old (knowing how to say so in Cantonese and English fluently). Jac graduated with B.A in Biology and minor in Education from the University of Albany as they saw a future either in animal medicine or academia in animal medicine. Whether it started out as a 14 year old volunteering to clean kennels at their family's vet's office, graduating from LaGuardia Community College/passing the VTNE to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician and currently taking classes to get in the Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine track: they devoted the past 19 years of their life to helping animals and those who care for them. They have a special spot for emergency/critical care medicine but have worked anywhere from general practice, to specialty surgery and even exotic/marine animal medicine! In their limited free time, they enjoy sewing/cosplaying for Anime conventions, playing the guitar, fostering/volunteering for special needs rescue animals, fishing, video games and telling dad jokes.
