  • Katie Dinowitz

Hi, I’m Katie! I am currently a senior at Fordham University studying biological sciences. I have been a huge animal lover my entire life and am looking forward to continuing my career in veterinary medicine and I aspire to one day become a small animal veterinarian. In my free time I love to watch movies with friends, test out new recipes, and ride my horse Moe!

  • Marilyn Gomez

Hey, I’m Marilyn, and my passion for animals started when I was a kid. I first started working with animals at 16 as a volunteer at a local rescue shelter. From that moment on, I was hooked! I have a special place in my heart for both dogs and cats, and I’m dedicated to making a difference in their lives. I also rescue and rehome cats and dogs, fueled by my love for all animals. I’m currently working on online schooling in hopes of getting my associates degree in veterinary technology, passing the VTNE to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician, and hopefully pursue a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in the future.

  • Gabriela Guzman

    Gabriela Guzman

Hi my name is Gabriela Guzman. I completed a Veterinary Assistant program and am currently studying to become a Veterinary Technician. I have a strong passion for animals and a deep interest in veterinary medicine. Since childhood, I have been caring for pets in my country of origin, which strengthened my love and commitment to animal care. Working in the veterinary field is exactly what I want, as it allows me to dedicate myself to the well-being of animals.

  • Dina Pak

Growing up, I have always loved animals but never actually saw myself pursuing a career in animal care. That all changed when I realized that I no longer found joy or fulfillment in my work as a preschool teacher and found myself spending any and all of my free time watching animal rescue videos on YouTube and really wishing I could do something like that instead. Taking a huge leap of faith, I left my teaching job to pursue a career in the veterinary field. Though I did not end up rescuing animals off the streets and putting up any videos on YouTube, I have found myself in a new career where I find joy in my work. I love what I do and my joy now comes in the form of puppy kisses, happy butt wiggles, wagging tails, and kitten purrs and snuggles.

  • Arianna Rivera

My desire to help animals in need led to my growing passion in this field. Growing up, I’d always visit my parents’ home country, Ecuador and seeing all the stray dogs/cats I knew it was a calling to study Veterinary Medicine. I graduated from LaGuardia Community College in August of 2025 as a Veterinary Technician and I got licensed 2 months later, in October. Since then, I’ve gained experience working primarily with rabbits and cats, but now I am very excited to shift my focus to cats and dogs. I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge in this field in hopes of continuing to be a voice for the voiceless.

  • Mellie Mezynski

Mellie began her journey in veterinary medicine in 2004 as a volunteer at a general practice veterinary clinic, where she discovered her passion for caring for animals and supporting the people who love them. In 2016, she transitioned into emergency veterinary medicine, gaining invaluable experience in fast-paced, critical care settings.

In 2023, she earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology and successfully passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) later that year, becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences from Polytechnic University, which has helped her build strong communication and client care skills.

Now, Mellie is excited to return to general practice, where she looks forward to forming meaningful one-on-one connections with clients and their pets.

Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys spending time with her two children, taking cruises, trying new foods, and cherishing the good-hearted people she’s met throughout her career.
